Student Support Services
ICT provides a range of appropriate services to support both local and international students during their enrolment with the college. The support services have been tailored to meet individual needs of students and provide prompt response to address a wide array of difficulties a student may face, thus ensuring student friendly approach to make their stay with ICT most enjoyable.
Student Meet and Green Program
ICT recognise the necessity of providing free airport pick-up and greet the student at the airport to provide the student with desired level of support. Providing student with free call from college telephone helps to intimate the safe arrival of the student to the anxious family. This small gesture helps in fostering close bond with the students.
There is always a few days space between student’s arrival and course commencement. This is the most crucial time for a newly arrived student when he feels lonely, deprived and homesickness being away from family, friends and familiar environment. A small meeting at the airport and arrangement for transport, living accommodation and initial counselling plays a vital role to make students transition a hassle free experience.
ICT Guest House
ICT has a well furnished guest house located at a few minutes' drive from the Adelaide airport. A newly arrived student on arrival is provided with free boarding and lodging for two days. Besides, he/she is allowed to stay for up to 7 days on a weekly rental of $AU 90 inclusive of all charges. However, the guest house stay can be extended if a student fails to arrange for accommodation. This facility is available to students on advance booking.
Orientation Program
After initial meet and greet program, ICT will provide detailed orientation programme. The orientation programme will be appropriate and thorough and allow access to all overseas students. It will cover all the aspects of training and assessment, visa conditions and life in Australia including assistance on resume writing and coaching on job interview.
Apart from information on the enrolled course, the rights and responsibilities of students and ICT, student support services, appeal and complaint procedure, critical incident policy, visa conditions, dos and don’ts, cross culture, social inclusion and living in Adelaide and about Australia, etc, will be clearly defined.
